Feudum: A nuanced game of hand & resource management

Hello everyone. I'm working with Panda on these figures, and I am exploring all options. As you know, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist. My original vision was wood, as I like the carved look with some rough geometric linear edges. And, of course, wood is classic and "high end," and for lack of a better term, Jumanji-like, haha. (Quick note: The yellow player pawn on the far left will definitely be wood, along with the good resources and player discs! I am simply talking about the intricate figures to the right of the pawn).

Anyway, with regard to the figures, the more detailed a piece is, the more difficult it is to achieve uniformity with wood, not to mention accuracy! I learned this from Candy and Nick, the creators of the pecan pals (www.noferin.com). After looking at my figures, they said I would have to simplify my design if I went with wood...which i do not want to do.

Meanwhile, plastic is just not luxurious. So, that's out. Vinyl is interesting to me too....but...I think the smooth, hand-painted, stone resin look and feel is the best option. I recently saw (and purchased) some "kimmidoll" figures from the www.theairdgroup.com. They also make "Ukido Ninja Warriors". The figures are weighty and beautiful and feel high-end to me.  So, that's where I"m at right now. 

I wanted you to understand my thought process. Your comments welcome!

Some of you have asked if there was a way you could thank me for adding the "Big Box" mid-campaign, or adding more shipping countries....or for being such an all around good sport....well, there is a way, haha!. : ) 

Tell your friends that I'm opening the door for late backers!  All they have to do is visit the late backer preorder store, where they can enjoy campaign pricing for a limited time (before full MSRP pricing takes effect).

Why should they benefit from the hard work of your true early adopters?... well, soooooo many folks were quite crushed that they had missed the campaign by a few days or a week! If it's any consolation to you, they are missing out on the optimized (albeit confusing) shipping that you enjoyed.  : )

Unlike you, late backers will have to pay shipping on EACH item they put into their carts verses paying on the total weight of their content. (It's an acknowledged limitation of Backerkit, and.....they're actually going to improve this in the future)  On the bright side, I have attempted to create a few money-saving bundles to curtail this a bit, so hopefully it works out for your friends... if they hurry.

P.S. If you have already backed, there's no need for you to visit the preorder store. You still have access to your original pledge manager where you can alter things up until April 28th, at which time your shipping will be verified and funds will be collected. Hi folks, 

I have been working with QM Logistics to include rates to more E.U. countries for weights up to 10 kg. (Please private message me for higher weights). Products will be shipped from the United Kingdom to these additional countries

• Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Croatia
• Cyprus
• Greece
• Malta
• Switzerland

If you logged in as one of these countries, your shipping will AUTOMATICALLY be adjusted to your specific lower shipping rate (down from the "rest of world" rate).

I hope this makes things a bit better for you!

Hi folks, 

Most of you remembered to add your "shipping add-on" into your shopping cart, but some of you forgot, or are a bit perplexed with the process. 

WHY IS THIS DIFFERENT?

I admit, this is a bit different than how it's normally done, but here's why it's worth the trouble. typically, shipping costs are added together for each item you place in your cart resulting in an unfair shipping total. Instead, I have set each item shipping to "0.00" and have created separate shipping add ons, one of which you MUST choose. 

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS 

1. Go to your survey. (Recover it here if you have lost it: https://feudum.backerkit.com)

2. Add up the kg weight of all items in your cart, BOTH your original reward item and your add ons! (You may use your head, your calculator or your fingers).

3. Select the correct shipping add-on for the shipping that is owed. (e.g. <5 kg, < 6 kg, etc.)

4. That's it! This will ensure that you get the best deal as you will enjoy the economies of scale for the combined weight of your order!

WHAT'S WITH THE HIGH SHIPPING RATES?

Some of you are less than thrilled at the shipping rates.  I don't blame you! Shipping rates recently increased. Please know that these are actual rates (plus $3-$5 in freight) as I discussed on the Kickstarter page.   Also know that "Rest of World" shipping is.... well, a drag. It is a catch all rate to cover all the countries not covered by designated shipping zones.  In some instances, I have found better rates for customers that fall just outside QM Logisitcs' designated E.U. list: AT, BE, BG, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, GB, HU, IE, IT, LT, LU, LV, NL, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK (not all E.U. countries are part of their designated shipping one-rate shipping list).

Here are all the zones, QM Logistics has provided: US, EU, CAN, AUS, NZ, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macao, Thailand/Vietnam, Korea, Singapore/Malaysia, Japan, All other Countries (Rest of World)

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We will be double-checking your shipping calculation prior to collecting payments to ensure that everyone gets the best deal on shipping. You will have until April 28th to make changes!  (Originally, I said February 14, but I wanted to give folks enough time!).

P.S. I have been monitoring messages sent within kickstarter heavily, and have been answering them all as fast as I can. I'll continue to do so over the weekend. Cheers.

oh... and the Big Box will ship WITH FOIL. : )

Hello backers... 

You may (or may not) have noticed that I implemented a Backerkit workaround in effort to lower your overall shipping costs.  Instead of each item having its own shipping price (which can really add up and unfairly penalize you for multiple items in your shopping cart), I created separate shipping SKU add-ons. (this is why the shipping says, "0.00" next to each item. : )

You simply need to add up (using a calculator) the kg weight of each item in your cart. (weights are in parenthesis next to each item).  THEN, you need to select the correct shipping SKU add-on before finalizing your order.

I know it's a lot to ask, but it will be worth it to you!  If you forget (or already forgot), Backerkit will be spot-checking orders to ensure that shipping has been added and weights are calculated properly too. Then, you will be notified again to go back in and add the appropriate shipping SKU add-on. Of course, you can go back in at anytime and add this yourself before April 28th, but I encourage you to do this sooner. : )

Sorry for the confusion this is causing some of you.  On a positive note, Backerkit's product team is already working on a shipping table feature to make this easier in the future!

P.S. This money-saving shipping SKU workaround is ONLY available to you the initial backers. Late backers will be assessed shipping for each item. There will be some bundles to account for multiple items in a cart, but it will be a lot less flexible.
