Learn About Our Project:

Miss Allison and Lord Brett flee from the burly Behemoth!
Miss Allison and Lord Brett flee from the burly Behemoth!

Blimey! You and your blokes have been banished and stripped of everything but a few shillings and table scraps. Undaunted, you journey to a strange land to reinvent yourself and reclaim your honor! Will you farm the earth, fight as knights or finagle your own feudums? Your fate is in your hands. (And for better or worse, the hands of a steely-eyed monarch named Queen Anne).

Hailed as "articulate and inventive," Feudum is a deeply nuanced game for 2-5 players that rewards resource management and skillful planning. Six uniquely powered characters and multiple paths to victory make for an ever-changing, open-world experience each time you play!

Feudum mechanics include action programming, area influence, hand management and a unique economic ecosystem. The game features the kinds of strategic complexities found in deeper games such as Terra Mystica, Brass, Caylus and Dominant Species. Jamey Stegmaier (designer of Scythe) compared the game in "depth and aesthetics to Trickerion,” while Jeremy and David of Man Vs Meeple likened it to Vinhos, the Gallerist and Madeira saying, there's a lot of thinking but "in the most fun way possible!"

With many strategies at their disposal, players optimize four actions per turn in an attempt to score the most veneration points over five epochs. Each player controls several medieval characters that roam the countryside tending farms, taxing towns and taking outposts in an effort to rise in power.

But, that’s only the tip of the behemoth's horn! You will also compete to acquire coveted feudums, which increase your membership status in one of six guilds. But beware! Feudum owners must pay homage to the king through military service, or face the charge of disloyalty. Long live the King!

"There's such a great depth...I saw all the ways everything could work out, and now I just keep wanting to play it." — Eddie Inzauto of GamerNode

"Feudum is a rarity of rarities in the board game world. Feudum feels like it's a Pandora's box of that thing that I’m looking for: Tons of exploration and tons of ways to win. This is a game that I will be pulling down on a repeated basis. The game is absolutely fantastic." — Lance Myxter of Undead Viking

“This will be a top 10 game...Mark has done a fantastic job of building a deep immersive world.” James Hudson of Druid City Games in the Kickstarter Boardgame Spotlight

“It melts my brain in the most glorious way! The artwork and the whole style is so fanciful, lighthearted and fun that it begs people to play it!” —David Waybright of Man Vs Meeple

“This is elegant! That beautiful feeling you get from an old school Euro that 'if you just had one more action this round' was there all game long. It all fits together in what I think will be a centerpiece game for your collection.” Brandon Kempf in the What Did You Play This Week Podcast Thing

"This is one that i will be 100% absolutely backing...Everything about this game gets me jumping out of my pants." — The Secret Cabal Gaming Podcast

"One of the cool things that I love is that you have differentiated difficulty levels—the base/beginner game and advanced rules...I'm already thinking 'okay that's cool, that's a fun advanced rule!'"  —Travis D. Hill of Low Player Count

“I had the pleasure of playing a prototype of Feudum at Geekway to the West. I had a good time! It's a heavy Euro game with lots of interesting decisions and a healthy dose of player interaction.” —Designer of Viticulture, Euphoria, Tuscany and Scythe, Jamey Stegmaier

“I cannot wait for this game to come out! If I were ever to design a board game, this is the game I would design.” —Richard Ham of Rahdo Runs Through (Top 25 Anticipated Games of 2016)

“Articulate and Inventive…If you’re a true gamer seeking a real challenge, this is the game.” —A Game of Thrones LCG World Champion, Samuel Tham

“Very challenging...very tactical. I love that it is unforgiving.” —Two-time Valhalla's Gate Puerto Rico Champion, Brett Barton

"It's surprisingly well balanced even for as many as 5 or 6 players with strategies and options that can't all begin to be explored with just one play-through. I've added it to my list of games to try to play as often as possible, right up there with Eclipse, Brass, Lords of Waterdeep and Power Grid." —Tabletop Enthusiast, Glen Greeson

"Playing with two players may be even more fun (and challenging) than playing with a group! It opens up the board and allows you to try different strategies, yet still maintains the feel and charm of the game. I've played with 2, 3, 4 and 5 players, and after playing Feudum more than 10 times I've enjoyed every game I've played.” —Playtester, Tim Maylander

Jeremy Salinas and David Waybright of Man vs Meeple go into depth about Feudum on the heels of their own kickstarter launch!

"This is completely unlike anything that I've played. The game is absolutely fantastic" —Lance Myxter of Undead Viking

Game Designer

Professor by day and game designer by night, I live in Columbia, Missouri with my three splendid daughters. I was Inspired by Eurostyle games in the late 90s and became a fan of legends like Reiner Knizia, Klaus Teuber, Martin Wallace and Andreas Seyfarth. I unveiled my prototype of Feudum at GenCon 2014 and was thrilled to meet and gain insight from folks like Eric Lang, Mike Eliott, Bruno Faidutti and Jamey Stegmaier. I am excited that the game has been hailed as "articulate and inventive," and appears on several "watch" lists within the BoardGameGeek community. I sincerely hope the kickstarter community feels the same way. Check out or BoardGameGeek to learn more.

As he likes to put it, Justin Schultz is an "earthling living in Jackson, Mississippi." Justin studied graphic design at Mississippi State University and worked for a number of advertising agencies before focusing on concert posters, album covers, package design and, just recently, board game art! His distinctive style of populating his art with monsters, reptiles and robots conjures up memories of children's picture books, albeit slightly skewed. Justin explains that he likes to lure viewers in with "superficially charming images," but then reveal something more "heartbreaking" or "daunting" upon closer inspection.  In 2010, Justin started his independent studio, The Flying Chair

Odd Bird Games is excited to announce a partnership with Quartermaster Logistics to get you your rewards! They are powered by, a business that has been shipping games for over 14 years to customers around the world. Quartermaster Logistics will ensure your packages arrive safe and on time as every game is professionally packed and protected.

How it Works
A short time after the campaign is over, you will receive an email from Backerkit that directs you to a pledge manager where you can confirm or upgrade your pledge, and add base games, expansions or other “add-ons.” (PayPal accepted). Shipping will be calculated at that time. Backerkit turns overpledges into a credit that may be used as you see fit in the pledge manager.

Shipping Estimates
The rates below are good faith estimates and reflect actual current carrier rates (FedEx, UPS) plus freight. QM Logistics will be shipping from their international fulfillment centers local to backers so that backers avoid VAT.

Add-On | 1 Game | 1 Game + 3 Exp | 3 Games | 6 Games
.01 kgs | 3.1 kgs | 5.43 Kgs | 9.3 kgs | 18.6 kgs

  • $05 | $15 | $21 | $26 | $40 —United States
  • $10 | $15 | $22 | $30 | $40 —Canada
  • $10 | $18 | $19 | $21 | $23 —European Union
  • $10 | $20 | $22 | $26 | $35 —Australia
  • $12 | $29 | $37 | $60 | $114 —New Zealand
  • $05 | $10 | $15 | $20 | $34 —China
  • $05 | $10 | $15 | $20 | $30 —Hong Kong
  • $10 | $50 | $?? | $?? | $?? —Rest of World

Lighter-weight add-ons (everything except additional games or expansions) will not likely incur additional shipping costs. Space permitting, orders will be included in one box to reduce overall shipping costs. These rates are based on current carrier rates (FedEx, UPS) and may fluctuate.

Rest of the World Fulfillment

QM logistics is dedicated to finding the most cost-effective delivery solution for backers around the world, therefore, the “Rest of World” rate is merely an averaged estimate. When possible, QM Logistics will use the fulfillment centers that are closest to backers in order to save them money. (For example, fulfilling from China, for East Asia, or fulfilling others from the EU shipping.) Be forewarned, it may be difficult to economically ship to some places in the world, but we will do our best.

Bulk Shipping
Heavier rates will generally just be a multiple or combination of 50lb and under rates. So, shipping 5 Feudum Cartons  (3 games per carton) at 46.5 kgs, would probably travel in 1 30kg and 1 20kg package in Europe, or possibly travel in 5 separate 10 kg packages. It would depend on how the packing works out. Often these shipments will be broken up in multiple boxes that are all shipped at once.

Pallet Shipping
Once we reach a pallet sized shipment, (i.e. 99+ games), costs almost entirely depend on where it will be shipped. For example, shipping a single pallet can range from $150 - $700 in the U.S.
