Feudum: A nuanced game of hand & resource management

Created by Mark Swanson

The Kickstarter campaign has come to an end, however, retail editions (at full MSRP) of Feudum and the expansions may be pre-ordered right here! You may also wait until the summer when the solo variant: Feudum: The Queen's Army will launch on Kickstarter. Rumor has it, there will be some special campaign bundles. As always, shipping stacks with multiple orders, so be sure to take advantage of the all-in-one accessory and/or game bundle options. Late Retailer Backers may email Mark directly at [email protected].

Preview of Feudum by Funkhouser
over 6 years ago – Sat, Aug 12, 2017 at 11:50:27 PM

Hello, everyone.  I thought you might enjoy this recent preview of Feudum by Derek Funkhouser of Druid City Games.  Here are a few excerpts:

"...The immersion and depth of Fuedum gives way to one of the most unique euro experiences to date. Feudum’s re-playability is unparalleled, as each player will rarely experience the same game twice. The sand box design allows players to interact with the world in ways few games have achieved. The interactions of the guild members will intrigue players as the game incentivizes you to play your role in the economy instead of attempting to stall or thwart other players...."

"...If you enjoy heavy games, Feudum is a must play and I daresay a must own, for you. Mechanically, the game operates unlike any game I’ve played. The pushing and pulling of economies between each guild is one of the most intriguing design elements I’ve ever seen. The immersive world of Feudum is begging to be explored. As you play, you can feel and see the game come to life..."

".....Feudum takes many of my favorite mechanics e.g. action programming, area influence, hand management and mixes them together to create an unforgettable experience...."

Queen's Army Launched...and Gen Con 50

Queen's Army Live!

Hey folks, thanks for all the well wishes on the Queen's Army launch... and for understanding my rationale for doing it early rather than later. If you decided to spring for it before retail, I am truly grateful.  If you decide to wait, that's fine too! Perhaps you can offer your support by sharing the campaign with your friends on Facebook!  To me, that's as good as a pledge!

Here's the official link....that you can cut and paste into a Facebook post! ; )

Gen Con 50 or Bust!  (Booth 567)

If your headed to Gen Con 50, please drop by and say "hi" to me!  I'll be sporting a double-sided 8 x 10 display!  My friends from Sparks Games and I will be demoing Feudum and passing out some nifty odd bird promos.

Resin Figures...Finally!
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jul 22, 2017 at 12:05:23 AM

Overall, I'm very happy with these figures!!  There were some compromises I had to make along the way, such as shorter/thicker horns and wider serpent fins (so they wouldn't break), slightly larger Behemoth feet (for stabilization), and slight variation in painting from figure to figure. In that way, each figure is its own work of art!  I will say this: They look so much cooler in person!!  Viewing zoomed in photos of these figures  (note the quarter to gauge size) does not resemble the in person experience. A photograph shows every little detail and flaw, but your eyes are not microscopes! So, when you view them normally, they look pretty amazing. There are a few things Panda and I are still working on.  For example, I did not like the idea of the metal windmill blade to come pre-attached, as it creates too much risk (for metal blade to bend) during shipment. One solution is to permanently affix a slightly protruding rod into the windmill. Then, one would slide the windmill blade in place, cap the end with a little cap that slides into place. This would allow the blade to be taken off for safe storage.  I welcome your thoughts!

A closer look at the pieces!
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jul 15, 2017 at 11:24:18 PM

Hello again. As promised, here are some photos of the actual board and pieces. As I mentioned before, this is ONLY the PPC (Pre-Production Copy), meaning the punchboard is laser cut resulting in some rough punchboard edges and image misalignment. (I'll be displaying this PPC at Gen Con 50 and the first real copy at Essen!). The eventual machine die cut will be much smoother. Nevertheless, this will give you a better sense of colors and size relationships.
